Peppermint Powder

Resa actually felt well enough to do some holiday baking. She wanted to make peppermint bark and I wanted to try to make some goodies to include in the “hot chocolate gift baskets”.

Well, I had a brilliant idea to “break” the peppermint in the mini food processor. That may have not been one of my better ideas – the peppermint turned into a powder.

But OMG – this was the best mishap I’ve had in the kitchen. We were instantly in love with the “peppermint powder” and had to try it with different goodies. It is fabulous dusted on the chocolate covered marshmallows.  The possibilities are endless – white chocolate covered Oreos, hot cocoa, tea and so much more.

But can you imagine my surprise that “candy cane dust” recipes were on Pinterest?  I’ve been missing out all of this time on this delicious treat. But no more.

I also found the cutest jars at Michael’s and decided to share this treasure with others for Christmas.

I can’t wait to “surprise” people with these swag baskets this year.

Resa has a doctor’s appointment this week at Tulane and I want to give the nurses and doctors a treat for all of the wonderful care they have given her. I hope they enjoy the goodies 🙂
