“Fried Doughnut” Recipe

I’m not really sure what the proper name for this recipe would be but it brings back find childhood memories for me and my kids love it when I fix this for them as well.

2 cups sifted flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup cooking oil
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp cinnamon, nutmeg or mace (all optional)

Mix all dry ingredients together

Next add cooking oil, milk and egg. Mix thoroughly

Drop by small teaspoonful into deep got oil (375 F).

Fry for about 3 minutes or until a deep golden brown.

Drain Ob paper towel or cooling rack.

Roll warm puffs into either confectioner’s sugar or a cinnamon/sugar mixture. (mine prefer them plain but I personally like the cinnamon sugar)
