With the holiday right around the corner I must share my cranberry sauce recipe. This goes over so well and there is never any leftovers. I actually make a double batch as our son will eat most of it right after it is done cooking.
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 bag fresh cranberries
1 cup chopped apple
1 cup chopped almonds
1 orange, segmented and cut
IWhen cooking for my dad I leave out the almonds and just use a dash of pure almond extract to taste)
Conbine sugar and water in large saucepan and bring to boil. Add the cranberries, apple and orange and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. You can serve hot or cold. My family prefers it warm but it is still really good the next day.
