I was busy tweaking Book 9 (and I still haven’t come up with a good title for it) when my husband looked over and asked how in the world I can type with my eyes closed.
Without even thinking I informed him that when my eyes are closed I can play all the scenes out in my mind.
I am not sure why it is so much easier to write this way but I have found that it is something that works for me. It is like watching a movie in my mind (plus all of my imaginary friends can come out to play). I can actually picture how I want the scene to play out and if I don’t like it then I rewrite the scene.
I keep changing bits and pieces of this latest book but I really want it to be perfect. Book 9 will be dedicated to my wonderful father who has been through a lot these last few years.
Although I did have to add some suspense into the book and Resa is the one that helped come up with that. After book 9 is finally off to be proofread I have the outlines for books 10-15 started. It is a hard decision on which one I want to start writing first. This is one of those times I wish I could just snap my fingers and be done with the book.
I am finally getting a good system going as far as writing and keeping everything organized. This is turning into a family business. My son and daughter really enjoy helping me with the book covers and trailers.
For those of you wondering though, neither of my children have read my books. I let my youngest help me name the characters and read her small paragraphs from the book (the g rated paragraphs) but that is it. I don’t want to give her nightmares.
With book 9 though she has been a little more involved since it does include some of our family history, but again she will only be allowed to read certain parts of the book. I’m still not sure if I want her to read about the haunted plantation. She may not want to go visit there again.
